WHAT IS FELTED WOOL?
Felted wool is a technique used to create a picture, not by the methods of dry or wet felting, but by placing multiple colors of wool fibers in layers on a frame base, which has been covered with a quilted fabric surface.
Felted wool and Tapestry accessories are well known in country Georgia.
In the first few centuries, the most commonly used felt was made of wool with its natural colors: white, brown, black. V-VI centuries appear to be painted wool fabrics, mainly from red from madder roots, purple from hawthorn, green from walnut.
Georgian shepherds were using felt as a bedding, or use it to make tents, a coat to keep them warm while tending of a sheep.
They use felt to make slippers, rags, hats, scarves, wallets and different sorts of ornaments.
HOW TO CREATE A PICTURE?
The wool is washed and brushed beforehand.The ornaments are planned in advance, we are selecting the color and the shape, then bleach and give the desire color to the wool, after that, we are washing in clean water and drying.After it’s ready to use, we pump into warm water, put the thin layer on a silk gauze and apply hand soap. We wrap it up in a cotton thread and then compressing for 5 minutes. If the size is bigger than 30/30 cm then the time will be increased proportionally.This process is repeated six times and each time it is closely wrapped and the time of pressing is increased by 5-5 min.And lastly we remove the cotton thread, washing and drying.

Keep in mind that we will need to create a new wool painting for you and it will take a few weeks to complete, depending on the size of the picture. The picture you receive may be slightly different from the image posted on the website, because each wool painting is unique. Wool is a living material and the fibers always act differently when laid into place. In addition, the colors of wool in each picture may differ slightly because of the nature of the fibers and the dyeing process used at our source for wool. Before shipping, I’ll send you the image of the final painting to make sure you love it and, if needed, make changes as you wish.

All of our pictures are sold without a frame, to keep the picture safe during shipping.
WILL YOU MAKE A CUSTOM ORDER?
You can order something similar to one of our paintings, or send me the image you would like created with wool, or we can work together to come up with a unique idea. Please, keep in mind, that exact repletion is impossible. Wool is a living material and the fibers always act differently when laid into place.
Before working on custom orders, half of the payment is required. The lead-time will vary, depending on the item. Prior to shipping, I’ll send you the image of the final painting to make sure you love it and, if needed, make changes as you wish.
Please keep in mind that custom orders will be final sales. I cannot accept returns or exchanges on any custom items.

HOW DO I CARE FOR MY WOOL PAINTING?
We would suggest to frame each picture with a glass covering to protect the wool fibers, and it’s ready to hang.
To remove dust and fingerprints, use a glass cleaner on the glass and a dusting cloth on the frame.
Don’t let the picture fall; it can damage the frame and break the glass. Small pieces of glass could become deeply embedded between the wool fibers and it won’t be possible to remove them.
Don’t hang the picture in the bathroom or outside the house.

If you purchase a wool painting to give as a gift, I’ll write a personalized note from you and place it in the shipping box for FREE. I’ll also wrap the picture with gift paper for an additional $27.

You can pick up your order. The specific place and time will be discussed in private conversation.
USA orders are sent first class mail unless the upgrade to priority mail is chosen. Delivery time is NOT guaranteed with either first class or priority mail, so we're unable to guarantee a delivery date. It all depends on if an item is in US or in Georgia. (Our main office is located in Georgia and most of the items are kept there).
SHIPPING OUTSIDE THE USA: Orders sent outside the US go via 1st class mail. Typical delivery time is not guaranteed. Returns and exchange details
If you are at all unsatisfied with your purchase, we will give you a refund or exchange. Please contact us within 3 days of receipt of your order if you are unhappy. Shipping fees are not refundable, and the return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer. The items you purchase must be in its original condition. We will issue the refund to the original credit card used for payment as soon the return is received.We gladly accept returns, exchanges, and cancellations.
